First of all, I was beyond elated with news about the inception of @MoAbudu’s #Ebonylife tv and its launch on the Dstv platform graced by the likes of Forbes Magazine’s very own Steve Forbes (how rad is that) aimed at rebranding the African image hence the well used channel 165 phrase “everything you knew about Africa is about to change forever”. But I never anticipated having so much fun as well as a decent learning experience with shows like the improved “@MomentsWith_Mo”; recently revamped by the inclusion of two new and amazing co-hosts (winners of “Mo’s search for a co-host”, @MarcyDolapoOni and @bolanle45) which made me wish that I had honoured the audition invite my 1-page essay earned me (pardon my going off a tangent). My Absolute favourite TV program now however is “@TheSpot_ELTV”, a relaxed, fun and conversation filled, interactive magazine styled talk show featuring former BBA housemate Ebuka Obi-Uchendu (@Ebuka), Lamide (@LAkintobi) and @Zainab_balogun who engage in discussions on “every and all topics” tackling from seemingly trivial issues like “the art of flirting” to mildly funny “nigerian weddings” and more heavy duty “monogamy vs polygamy”. I doesn’t hurt either having celebrities like @theonlychigul drop in to hang out with “the spot” amazing trio (or more recently duo) presenters. Feel free to drop comments about your Fav TV program or what you think about mine…..
Iyanya was a guest on Channel Tv’s Youth Program, “Rubbing Minds” yesterday afternoon where he stated to the host of the show, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, “I would dine with Genevieve, die for Yvonne Nelson and dust off Tonto Dikeh”. 1st of all, what does ‘dust off’ mean? Secondly, seeing Yvonne Nelson’s picture @ the Premier of her 3rd self produced movie “House of Gold” held at Silverbird Cinemas in a beautiful Mai Atafo gown on Friday July 19th, I surely won’t doubt anyone who says he’ll die for this screen goddess.
Chika Ike as a Nollywood Actress has garnered fame and fortune especially after her drastic decision to get a haircut for a movie role. In a recent episode of “Rubbin’ Minds” with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu (former BBA housemate), the Naija Diva talks about her love life, career, fears and what to expect from her soon.
My attention however was caught when she stated “I would not want to talk about my experience with early marriage and spousal abuse cos when you get married, things happen along the line and you ask yourself if it is something you can take. Everybody has their share of experience in
marriage. I don’t like talking about it because I’m trying to get over it. The next man I will marry? I am not sure I am going to get married but if I eventually do, I will just let go and allow God to guide me. But if it does not work out, happiness is all that matters. I cannot sacrifice my happiness for anybody”. Did You Know Chika Ike;
1) starred in her first movie role as an extra in 2005.
2) cries sometimes when she reads false, offensive and antagonizing rumors, stories and critique about herself online.
3) plans to grow back her hair as soon as possible.
4) admits that she prefers the ‘Asaba’ straight-to-DVD movies because they are more commercially successful than those that go straight to cinema.
