Nigeria drops to 36th position in September FIFA rankings

Despite defeating Malawi 2-0 to qualify for the final
round of qualification for Brazil 2014 and also
beating Burkina Faso 4-1 in Kaduna three days later,
the Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped one place
to number 36 in the latest FIFA rankings.
In the rankings released today, Cote d’Ivoire are still
the top ranked African country in 19th position,
while Ghana occupies the 24th spot. Algeria (28th)
and Mali (38th) complete the top five from the
continent.
The top five countries in the world are Spain,
Argentina, Germany, Italy and Colombia.
