Forbes Top 50 Highest Paid Athletes in the World…..

Posted on Updated on

Pardon my deviation from the usual naija related gossip….. Tiger Woods remains the highest paid athlete in the world with his $78.1M a year earning according to Forbes’ most recent rating. Note however that if retired athletes were considered, Michael Jordan would top the list with his $80 million a year income thanks to royalties from the nearly $2 billion-in-sales Nike-owned Jordan Brand.
In 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th positions are Roger Federer (71.5M), Koby Bryant (61.9M), Lebron James(59.8M), Drew Brees (51M), Aaron Rodgers (49M) and Phil Mickelson(48.7M). Soccer players begin to show up in the 8th, 9th and 10th positions occupied by David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi with a whooping 47.4M, 44M and 41.3M respectively. See picture above.
